Unboxing Canada – Saskatchewan

Unboxing Canada – Saskatchewan

· 6 min. read

Before I get started, I want to apologize to Tourism Saskatchewan for taking several months to write this article. I believe they sent me this box back in September and I finally unboxed it in late January. That is terrible, so I am so sorry about that.

But I am also super excited because this is the first time Tourism Saskatchewan and I have ever collaborated on anything! Woo-hoo! We were supposed to have a collaboration trip to the Limestone Crevices back in 2020, but due to the provincial recommendation to halt all non-essential travel, I went up there by myself. It was a disaster of a trip, so it's probably better that they had nothing to do with it.

With that said, after six years of doing this blog, I am super excited to have finally collaborated with Tourism Saskatchewan and for them to participate in my Unboxing Canada Series.

You can see the unboxing video below, or keep reading for my breakdown of the contents:

The first thing I got from Tourism Saskatchewan's box were four postcards. The first postcard was of a couple sitting on a ledge at Grasslands National Park (which I have never been, but hopefully will this year), another was of some friends hiking in Prince Albert National Park, the third one was of a field of canola and flax, and the last postcard was of the Sunset Ceremony at the RCMP Depot. I just had a postcard giveaway in December so I'm not sure if I'll have another one, but let me know if you want one and I'll be happy to send it your way.

The next item I got was a "Hooked on Saskatchewan" Len Thompson fishing spoon. I haven't gone fishing since I caught that monster sturgeon near Medicine Hat, but I've never really had the tools to do so either. Although I'm not a fisherman, I still know the name "Len Thompson" and I know this is a quality spoon, so I'm excited to have it and to see what I can catch with it in one of Saskatchewan's 100,000 lakes.

Next, I got a "Sask" t-shirt from Little Town Apparel, a clothing company in Saskatchewan that makes t-shirts celebrating all the fun and quirky towns we have in the province. I've wanted a new t-shirt from Tourism Sask for a long time since I lost one to the washing machine around 2016, so this is perfect - although I think I may have lost this one to Jessica, since she really likes Little Town Apparel clothing and has collected quite a few of their t-shirts.

The fourth item Tourism Saskatchewan sent me was a map of Saskatchewan – something I need more than I'll admit since I am always getting lost when I go out on the country. I haven't had a physical map of the province since I was a Cub Scout so I am excited to see how the two are different.

Next, I got a 2021 Saskatchewan Travel Guide booklet. They actually gave me the guidebook in 2021 but I didn't unbox it until 2022 so the fact it's a little old is my own fault. However, the content in the book is still accurate and it was a great reminder that while I have seen a lot of the province, there's a lot I still have left to see. I really enjoyed reading this travel guide and I recommend it for anybody looking to explore Saskatchewan this year.

Lastly, I got a white water bottle with a blue and yellow design, with black trees, a black sun, and black buildings on it. I really love the design and I plan to use the water bottle going forward. I've been using the one from Travel Manitoba's unboxing for the past few months, so I'm excited to use this one instead.

All in all, I really enjoyed this box from Tourism Saskatchewan and I'm sorry, again, it took me so long to unbox it. I know most of my readers are from Saskatchewan, but for anybody wanting to explore what this awesome province has to offer, please visit their website and check them out on social media. It was great to finally do a collaboration with Tourism Saskatchewan and I hope we can do more in the near future!

What did you like most in this box? Have you ever used a Len Thompson? Let me know in the comments below!

Don't forget to pin it!
